Do you want to learn to play the dulcimer?

No musical  experience is necessary.  And I have loaner dulcimers for students who want to give it a try without the expense of buying an instrument.

My students learn to read tab, playing the melody, as well learning about and playing chords. We focus on DaD tuning, playing in the key of "D."

Having studied music at Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio as a voice major, I use my knowledge of music theory to help my students, and have developed a beginners' book which includes tablature and tips.
Here is a typical playlist for my beginning students:
  • Bile them Cabbage
  • Little Liza Jane
  • When the Saints Go Marching In
  • Red River Valley
  • Down in the Valley
  • Southwind
  • Rosin the Beau
  • Oh Suzannah
  • You are my Sunshine
  • Road to Boston
  • Mississippi Sawyer
  • Amazing Grace
  • Farther Along
  • Will the Circle Be Unbroken
